James Ceasar

James Caesar received his bachelor's degree from the
Cleveland institute of Music in 1940. He took a second
bachelor's degree from Case Western Reserve University
in 1947 and a master's degree there in 1949. He was a
member of the Cleveland Symphony Orchestra. In 1949
he took a position as professor of violin at Wichita State
University. He was also first violinist in the WSU faculty
string quartet and chair of the string division. He was
concertmaster of the Wichita Symphony Orchestra.
During the summers he was artist in residence at the
Brevard Music Center in North Carolina. He has served
as advisor to Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia and president of the
Kansas String Teachers Association.
