Russell L. Wiley

Russell L. Wiley was a band director at Simmons
College and an instructor at Randolph College. He
took his bachelor's degree in music from Phillips
University in 1930 and remained there as band
director until 1934. He then joined the staff at The
University of Kansas, where he served as director of
bands, conductor of the orchestra, and founder of
the Midwestern Music and Art Camp. He had wide
experience as an adjudicator and guest conductor
including appearances with the San Antonio
Symphony and the Mexico City Orchestra.
