Edwin E. Bartley
Inducted in 2005
Edwin E. (Ed) Bartley grew up in Dodge City and graduated from Kansas State Teachers College of Emporia. He has graduate hours from KU, KSU, Vandercook and Emporia State University. Ed began teaching all bands and high school choir in Johnson, Kansas. He then moved to Deerfield, then Stafford and later Lawrence to do band programs. The Lawrence high school bands performed for KMEA, SWMENC, and MENC. The marching band was invited to perform at the Portland Rose Festival three times. Ed served in KMEA as District V President, State Music Festival Chairman, and State President. He also served on the boards of Southwest MENC and Young Audiences. Ed was a charter member of the KBA and is a member of American School Band Directors Association, Phi Mu Alpha, Phi Beta Mu and Kappa Kappa Psi. He was awarded the "Mac" award by the McAllister Outstanding Leadership Foundation. Since becoming an independent fundraising consultant, Ed has served Kansas and Missouri schools as guest conductor, clinician, and adjudicator. He has also done clinics in Oklahoma, Nebraska, Kentucky, and Oregon.
