Joe Graves
Inducted in 2000
Joe Graves graduated from Kiowa High School and holds Bachelor of Arts degree from Northwestern State College in Alva, Oklahoma and Master of Music Education degree from Wichita State University. He did additional graduate work at the University of Kansas, Emporia State College, and Kansas State University. Joe taught 40 years total in Preston, Partridge, Ulysses, and Buhler, Kansas. He has served as band chairman and president of KMEA District VI. Mr. Graves is also a member of ASBDA, KBA, and Phi Beta Mu. He has been active in Hutchinson Community Concert Association, Hutchinson Municipal Band, Kansas Winds, Fort Hays High Plains Band Camp, and church music at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Hutchinson. Joe has presented numerous clinics and workshops at professional meetings and was named District VI Outstanding Elementary Teacher by KMEA in 1997-1998.
