N. Voss Napier earned his bachelor's degree from
Emporia State Teachers College in 1930 and his
master's degree from Northwestern University in 1940.
He was supervisor of music in Ellsworth from 1930 to
1942. He served in the U. S. Navy during World War II
and joined the faculty of Marymount College in Salina
as instructor of music in 1947. He served the college
for twenty-two years and was chair of the music
department before his appointment to the post of
business manager. He was a charter member of
KMEA, helping draft its constitution, and he served the
Association as president.
